This is one new problem GM is more than happy to discuss. Yesterday, officials told Inside Line news that demand for the Camaro has outstripped supply, forcing the company to work overtime at its Oshawa production plant.
According to GM, SS models account for about 70% of its current orders. Black is also the most popular color as 25% of all models are ordered that way. "We think this may stem from the SEMA Black Concept, which was the most popular GM car at SEMA last year," Chevrolet spokesman Adam Denison told Inside Line.

Wow, 70% are the 6.2L SS, I like it! But black? Really? Yuck.

I saw my first Camaro out in the wild (on the road, rather than dealership or car show) the other day, in Ignition Orange Metallic. I can't see how you could get this car in anything other than a bright, flamboyant color. The styling is so aggressive, sculpted, and iconic that it just begs to be shown off in a flashy orange, red, yellow, or other color.

I have seen two on the roads and one at dealer. Saw dark red, black and yellow.
Just last year the media pundits who swear they can predict the future were questioning the "timing" of this since we were being told the whole world was migrating to subcompacts and hybrids and this was the wrong time to launch a "gas guzzling" muscle car with limited appeal to baby boomers.

I saw a red Camaro SS a few weeks ago and it litterally stopped me in my tracks as pictures dont do the car justice. GM did an exceptional job designing this car (exterior). It was the only SS Ive seen as all the others Ive noticed on the road have been V6 models.
I'm happy for GM that the Camaro is selling extremely well.... however, the Camaro isnt the car (or truck) that keeps the lights on aka bread n' buttah. I wouldnt look for sales to be this substantial for long.

Good news for the Canadians assembly workers I suppose.
Too bad this car isn't built in America. I know quite a few guys that got laid off from their plants because of lack of work.

Proving that the pundits don't know as much as they think they do.
It's great to see that GM has another hit product. They need to keep the effort up across all their vehicles, and never think that just good enough is good enough.

CTS:
If you sell cars in Canada you have to build some there. Same with mexico. GM is always going to build cars up there- it just so happened that this is going to be one of them. Lacrosse production has left Canada and is currently in Kansas City.

Sorry, I choose the Mustang or the Challenger instead.

Have seen a few out on the road, they are nice but too cartoony looking for an everyday car, and the interior is just a joke. I don't care if the Challenger's interior is boring, it and the Mustang blow it away in quality.
