More Details On the Production Lexus LF-A

Sources in Japan have unearthed a few new details on the production version of the upcoming Lexus LF-A supercar. Yeah, you know the car that seems to only exist on autoshow stands and the Nurburgring?

Well, it's back on again and should make yet another auto show appearance in its finalized form at this year's Tokyo auto show in October. The attached rendering is based on both the recent Nurburgring prototype and additional details from an inside source at Holiday Auto, a prominent Japanese car magazine.

Our own insider also adds that of the 500 units destined for production, 350 of them will be left-hand drive. All LF-As will get 6-piston calipers with carbon ceramic brake rotors, titanium mufflers, run flat Bridgestone tires and a six-speed automatic sequential gearbox.

Let the comparisons to the Nissan GT-R begin.

By the time the LF-A and the NSX sucessor do debut the exotic competition will have moved on to another chapter in performance.

I can't imagine how this car can be better than the 599 or the GT-R or the ZR-1.

Jeez... Hopefully they have a manual version. Lexus/Toyota Love depowering their cars with automatic transmissions. Sequential or not.

I hope the Subyota coupe bears a strong family resemblance to the LF-A. The LF-A is still one of the best looking supercars out there despite the numerous delays. Of course only offering a Dual clutch tranny and pricing it at 250k means no one will buy one but it's a halo car so Toyota doesn't care.

Love that air scoop on the B pillar - like the F430 has!

Hope the front-end doesn't end up looking too fussy on the final product.

Great another Nippon stuporcar! Let's hope this one has lunch control so it will snack on its manumatic gear box too. It is amazing how many brands "ultimate" solutions end up weighing so much and delivering so little aesthetic appeal. I'm guessing that these will sell likely sell about as well as ice to Eskimos.

I guess Toyota performance for the every man is over. This car is irrelevant as far as I am concerned. Why would anyone opt for this car over a Lambo or Ferrari? The GTR is at least "cheap" in comparison to other super cars. Even if I could afford it, I would never buy it. Toyota needs to get its head out of its ass and come up with an affordable performance car. They are the only major Japanese car maker without one here in the US.

Honda has no supercar. Even the S2000 is in its last year.

why i laybets and buy a new luxury supercar from Lexus. i can buy more stylish, more beautiful, more power, more fun-to-drive from Audi, Jaguar, Maserati.
Lexus r loosing the war, they lost a lot of battles against the Germans. ppl r now realising that Lexus is not that special car as their ad impress.
