The turbocharged Hyundai Genesis Coupe may be the base model in the lineup, but from day one it's been the model tuners have been dying to get their hands on. MODE racing is one of those tuners and its been building a time attack Genesis coupe for a couple months now. So far, most of the modifications are relatively mild (reprogrammed ECU, exhaust, intake), but on its latest dyno run their coupe managed to crank out 250-horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. Not bad for a base coupe.

That was pretty impressive. I foresee this being the Integra GSR of the 21st century, only cooler.

If I'm reading the graph right, it says 250 hp and 291 lbs/ft (not 270)
Now the question is, are this numbers to the rear wheels or adjusted to reflect the engine power?

Yea, this definitely cements my prediction that the turbo 4 will outsell the heavy 6 70 to 30. Turbo 4 is cheaper, lighter, still has the same beautiful styling and is capable of infinitely more power. If they can get this thing up 40 horse with minor things lik an ecu, exhaust and intake, imagine a FMIC, meth injection a bigger turbo and (dare I say) cams? Easily a 300+ rwhp car. And it just happens to be sexy. What more do you want?

Yes this car made a nice amount of toque!! Pretty exciting news for these new cars I can't wait to get mine. If you want to read more on the MODE car they have a section here on one of the Genesis Forums: (http://genesisforums.org/mode-racing/).
