Lee Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang

iacoccamustang_01 FRONT 555.jpg

The Iacocca Silver 45th Anniversary Edition Ford Mustang is badass. Its fastback retro look is straight reminiscent of the Ford pony car from the 60s - almost like Eleanor from Gone in Sixty Seconds. Sunken headlights, 20-inch Iacocca Design wheels and diamond-pattern leather seats are just a few of the special edition Stang's features.

Built on a 2009 Mustang platform, buyers have a choice between the stock 320 horsepower 4.6-liter V8 or the 400 horse supercharged version. A five-speed manual is standard, and the company has also added Ford Racing handling and brake packages.

The vehicle is the product of former Ford president Lee Iacocca, designer Michael Leone and coachbuilder Gaffoglio Family Metalcrafters. The partners will build 45 of these bad boys - all silver - through Galpin Ford in Southern California.

There is no official pricing yet, but Lee said this in an interview:

"Well, the nominal price will be probably between $60,000 and $65,000. But, since it's a limited edition, there will be a lot of transactions higher than that, people bidding, almost auction-like, to get a — probably a collector's item."

So definitely upwards of $65,000...

I know about his connection with Ford and the Mustang but the name Iacocca will always mean K-cars and minivans to me.

^^That's hilarious, but also true, even if K-cars and minivans make the interesting cars possible at an affordable price.

The diamond pattern seats looks great!

dunno if i'm really feeling the fastback. And I dont care how instrumental he was to the Mustang, I dont want his name on a car I'm paying 65k+ for.

Iacocca Design wheels? Is this like rich Corinthian leather?

Funny stuff! Where was the silver anniversary, hopped up Caravan, Lee? Actually, that would have been a cool ride for the soccer mom bunch. Think: newest Caravan with a supercharged 4.0L V6 good for about 300hp, 20's, dropped 2" from stock, platinum silver paint. :)

zoomzoomn....see the never to be produced Dodge caravan r/t.
60k for this? I'll still sign up for GT500 instead for less and get more power, arr arr arr.
How long before the fastback becomes an option on the regular mustang like the glass roof did?
