Well, at least the brand will make a return to ownership within its homeland.
Check this out, the news already made it to Koenigsegg's Wikipedia entry:

We definitely live in the age of instant, real-time chronicling of events, don't we?

I think this means that Saab is in for a very interesting next few years. I think that a brand like Koenigsegg will inspire some true sporty cars from Saab and really bring them back to their fighter jet days since the closest you can get to an airplane is a CCX!

Good choice I think. The question is, where can you buy Saabs once GM gives them the boot?

I think this will go well. I'll be very interested to see what fruits this bears. It is too bad to see it leave GM since even though the brand itself isn't profitable, the turbo 4 cyl technology really helped GM.

I'm having a hard time with the logistics of this. How does a tiny (aren't they less than 100 people?) specialty car builder take over and successfully run a company like Saab?
This makes less sense than Fiat taking over Chrysler.

You don't need a lot of people to run a company, quite the opposite really (GM has proven that).
What you need it the right people.(and good capital backing).
This could be the saviour for SAAB. GM wasn't doing anything productive with it anyhow.

Hmm, I think this could be the start of somthing good.
