Although hardly a pillar of the automotive industry, Farrah Fawcett posed with enough gaudy 70s Corvettes to make her a noted "car girl" of sorts. Her role opposite Burt Reynolds in The Cannonball Run helped too. And who can forget this 1975 commercial for the Mercury Cougar? They don't make them like that anymore.

It's amazing how the English language evolves. "Cougar" has a completely different meaning now. Or does it?

I just heard Micheal Jackson died today too.
Bad day for the icons of my younger years.

That poor girl. I didn't even know she had cancer. She was quite the babe in the '70s.
I remember that commercial from my kid years. "At the sign of the cat" seemed like such a cool slogan then.

Yeah, I was 5, but I remember that commercial, and the tagline, "At the sign of the cat . . . " Never realized that was her in the commercial, but I probably didn't know who she was until Charlie's Angels, and even then I only cared because she was married to my hero, the Six Million Dollar Man.

The Six Million Dollar Man was one of my favorite shows too.
