2010 Ford Taurus Road Trip: A Beverage Worthy of the Taurus Shifter

2010_Ford_Taurus_giant_shifter_giant_cup.jpg 2010_Ford_Taurus_giant_shifter_giant_cup2.jpg

#Ford Taurus -- Although it's a little hard to get a sense of the scale from these photos, the shifter in the 2010 Ford Taurus is too large and tall for comfortable use by those with average-size hands (that is, unless you drive in work gloves).

Finally, though, in El Paso, I order a drink that's on the same scale as the Ford's gigantic shifter. The two of them nuzzle each other for all 8 hours it takes me to finish this 800-ounce Diet Coke.

And just how many times did you have to stop to get rid of 800 ounces of Diet Coke?

That's the most efficient packaging of 6.25 gallons (23.66 liters) I've ever seen.

Good choice if you weren't able to get BBQ. I love me some Whataburger!

Man, I haven't had Whataburger in a very long time.

You should find a Sonic before you enter the land of California. I haven't had Sonic in quite a while, either.

Other than the large shifter, the interior looks like it is good quality.

Whataburger. Excellent.

Oh man...this kills me. Living in Virginia now I long for the #2 with those perfect fries. I was a Texas native for nearly 28 years an never appreciated WB until I moved. Virginians haven't a clue what BBQ or 'real' fast food is.

Hail Texas!

estreka - if you live in SoCal, you can get your Sonic fix. I just got home from a road trip and noticed a new Sonic in Victorville (not next door, I know, but it's within 100 miles). With the increased number of Sonic ads I'm seeing on TV in L.A., I'm guessing they're planning on opening more locations in the near future (if they haven't already)...

I think the closest one to me is in Bakersfield. That's a long way from Santa Maria.

When did you transfer, estreka?

Now you can hit up one of California's fine road courses!

There's a Sonic in Fullerton if you ever make it to the OC (Orange County).

"I think the closest one to me is in Bakersfield. That's a long way from Santa Maria."

But it would be a fun drive over the mountains...

I like that shifter from the previous version Taurus better...

And the Tiny E says,

"Man, just look at that drink cup. That sucker is huge!"

"Hey, take a look at that shifter. Man, that thing is huge!"

"Hey man, I'm just saying it's a huge shifter, that's all."
