About a month ago we ran a story about Rhys Millen's Genesis Coupe drift car and its surprising use of a Nissan V6. It was an odd circumstance to say the least, one that the team attributed to not having enough time to develop Hyundai's V6.
Yeah, well it's all kosher now as Millen and Co. have managed to squeeze a proper Hyundai V6 under the hood. It makes 480-horsepower and 570 pound-feet at the wheels according to Millen which should be more than enough power to get those rear wheels spinning at Road Atlanta for the second round of the Formula Drift series.

I've been wondering this for a while, didn't ask - thought I'd look up the answer, just Googled it and I still have the same question. Can anyone explain the "Lambda" designation? Doesn't GM also use this term for their 3.8 - or am I out to lunch? (I AM actually eating at the moment) Or, is GM's Lambda reserved for their crossover and it is just a naming coincidence?
Either way - Millen (or his people) are getting a ton of RWHP out of this Lambda.

GM uses Lambda to designate its midsize crossover (Traverse, Acadia, etc.) platform.
Hyundai uses it for its V6. No connection, just a common name.

Now make me wonder how much was the cost for that 500+ Nissan VQ engine? Only running 1 round of the D1 and scrap it? How much development cost was with that? With all that many custom fittings for that chassis.....
