I don't want rib fractures. I'm going to drive a Chevy Silverado. The truck that gets 5-star side crash rating even when it has no side airbags.

Too bad its side impact, I was wondering if a frontal crash could fix the tucan grill

Good to see as the Acura brand was recenetly named the safest as their entire portfolio recieved better than avereage scores. Volvo who?
Ive been thinking. Since this was a side impact test and the "ram" is supposed to simulate another vehicle wouldnt the test be even more positive if the "ram" would crumple given it would absorb some of the impact also? Or was this test designed to use a "ram" that doesnt crumple or absorb energy to see just how much energy vehicle structures could absorb? I can see how this method could result in better crash performance and higher levels of safety standards.
However, it seems like using this method, the TL (or whatever) is forced to absorb all the energy. In the real world that wouldnt be the case.
