You're probably not familiar with the name Source Interlink, but you've probably read some of its magazines. Along with well-known titles like Motor Trend
, Automobile
, Hot Rod
and Car Craft
, Source Interlnk also publishes dozens of smaller enthusiast magazines focusing on everything from 5.0 Mustangs to Jeeps.
According to a report by Bloomberg this morning, Source Interlink has filed for bankruptcy protection and is seeking to go private.
For now, the magazines are probably safe from any immediate changes, but if you're a fan Source's smaller publications, don't be surprised to see some of them fall by the wayside as the company restructures.

Darn. I get three of these magazines, and I hope they are unaffected!

If automobile mag goes kaput, you guys should hire Ezra Dyer.

I believe most, if not all the auto mags are hurting, and have been for several years. That is why many others have been offering near give-away subscription prices. The internet has impacted a lot of their business models.

+1 for Dyer, I also don't mind Jamie Kitman's off-kilter articles as well...
The unfortunate thing about print magazines is that they are already out of date by the time you get them in the mail.
However, the great thing about them is that they make great reading material for certain rooms in the house...

I've received Motor Trend since 1982. It would be shame to lose them
