Obviously, all of General Motors is pretty much up in the air right now, but Pontiac dealers are feeling especially nervous given the "niche" brand label they acquired in GM's original viability plan. Not much has changed in the last few months and now we know why.
Susan Docherty, vice president of Buick-Pontiac-GMC told Automotive News, "The Pontiac decision is pretty low on the priority list for right now...it's not going to be the savior for GM."
Pontiac dealers probably didn't have any grand illusions that they were going to be a big part of the turnaround, but when the executive in charge tells the press that you're low on the priority list that's got to hurt.

It probably doesn't hurt as much as a genuine kick-in-the-crotch announcement that your brand is being "phased out."
Just ask any Saturn dealer!
At least Pontiac dealers, generally, have other brands sold under their roof.

Yeah, but if Pontiac goes under, those dealerships will only be selling dowdy cars, trucks, and SUVs. Not the best selection of product in today's economy.

Pontiac is equallyas important of an automobile line as is Chevrolet. Look at the numerous similarities. Trans Am-Camaro, LeMans-Chevelle, Impala-Bonneville, etc..
Pontiac as well as Chevrolet began in the late 50's and early 60's with Direct from the Factory Street Legal Drag Strip Cars.. YES, Pontiac did build and can build EXCITEMENT !
