March Car Sales Down, But Glimmer of Hope Emerges

Looking at all those big red down arrows might lead you to believe that March was another dismal sales month -- and you would be right. But since we're all optimists here, we would like to point out that March was not as dismal as expected.

The annual sales rate that some expected to dip as low as 9.1 million actually came in at 9.8 million. And the sales bump from February to March was actually higher than normal. So in other words, sales sucked, but they are starting to suck a little bit less.
