The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor made some news again this weekend. The race model, known as the Raptor R, competed in the Primm 250 and "finished second in class 8000" according to Ford's press release.
Sounds like a strong showing eh? Well, sort of.
A quick check of the official race results confirmed the Raptor's second-place finish in class 8000. Upon closer inspection, however, we also noticed that only two trucks finished in class 8000, so uh yeah, it's all in the details isn't it?
In other news, Ford also announced pricing for the production Raptor due out this summer. Base models with the 5.4-liter V8 will start at $38,995. Models with the larger 6.2-liter V8 will be available later this year starting at $41,995.

Ed, come one. Ford placed second, but you failed to mention (assuming, I'm looking at the right results) that it was beat by another Ford.
The horror.

It may have finished second, but it did finish... how many started the race in its class?

Those prices could be quite reasonable if the standard options list is significant.
