Check this out. Avis will rent you a 2010 Chevy Camaro. One that seats 4, has air conditioning and the rare luxury of power steering. Automatic transmission too of course, as Avis has no interest in frequent clutch replacements.
But is it a V8 SS or a V6?
We're guessing V6, but the guy that answered the phone at Avis didn't know. Plus, that 18-26 mpg range doesn't match the EPA rating of either model. According to Chevy the V8 auto gets 16 city and 25 hwy. and the V6 auto manages 18 city and 29 hwy.
Whatever, return the sucker with cords showing.

You are hard pressed to find a 300 or Charger rental with a Hemi or even a Lucerne with a V8...that's what a rental is all about...stripped down, plain, and devoid of the bells and whistles...definitely a 6

The v6 is 300hp. For rental duty, thats a lot. Their gonna have a hard time justifying to their lawyers why they need the 400hp V8

It's the Camaro SS in all 400hp V8 American goodness. It costs as much as renting the Corvette, but it was fun to have people do doubletakes while i was driving it. :-D
I rented from DFW airport. They don't have it available on the website to reserve, but when you come to the airport, they have it on display (if either 1 of the 2 they have is actually on the lot!)
Unlimited miles for $200 per day, but the taxes were ridiculous (15% for TX tax + 11% for airport convenience fee). I only kept if for one day. It was a fun day, though.
