We all know that Nissan's next full-size pickup will use a Dodge Ram chassis and Hemi V8, but the name of the truck has been a well-kept secret. Rumors of a name change have run rampant, but today Inside Line has learned that the Titan name will live on.
According to Nissan's Senior VP of Sales and Marketing Brian Carolin, the company's future Dodge-based pickup will be called Titan when it hits dealers in 2011. "It will be called Titan, and our dealers are looking forward to the truck," Carolin told us on the floor of the New York auto show. "Their only concern about the vehicle is the future of Chrysler."-- Scott Oldham, Inside Line Editor in Chief

Was there something wrong with that beast of an engine that the Titan already had?

Although, I guess it might not just bolt right into a Ram.....

I'll bet the Hemi is a lot cheaper to make. it's a relatively simple pushrod motor that also makes a ton of power and all the right noises.

Too bad the great truck won't live on with the great name.
