Jaguar used the 2009 Shanghai auto show to announce details on the upcoming 2010 XJ sedan. It will debut this summer in London on July 9th and go on sale in some markets by the end of this year.
A second-generation of Jaguar's aluminum chassis will underpin the new flagship and both standard and long-wheelbase models will be offered. Engines will range from a V6 diesel to the 510-horsepower supercharged V8 already shown in the XFR sedan.

Very curious to see where this goes. If it is anything like the XF, I will miss the long, lean look of classic Jaguars, but you can't live in the past. I might even trade my current XJR for a new one. 510 horsepower is hard to argue with.

As good as the XF is, I've only seen one or two of them on the road here. They must be selling them somewhere else.
However, if they extend the design language of the XF into the XJ, I think it will be a good thing. Finally something new on the road since 1984!
