Digg founder Kevin Rose posted these images of what look like the Tesla Model S sedan on his Flickr account this morning. An official reveal is scheduled for later today in Hawthorne, CA.

We'll have full coverage from the event, but until then this is all we know.

Looks very Jaguar XF-ish. Also looks like they ripped off the Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR wheels. But I do like the glass roof.

who cares where it is copied from. The end result is great! (but I totally agree with mazdaspeed_jon)

What's the deal? Don't they realize that an eco car (of any stripe) is supposed to have an appearance somewhere between homely and fugly?

Rear end reminds me a bit of the new Mazda6.

I agree with the wheels comment, but they're actually Lorinser wheels that MB has been branding as their own afaik.

I like the car but not the roof. The soloar gain would be massive and in an electric car if the AC has to work harder that means the batteries die faster.

Stick to metal, or go solar panel ala the Prius to keep the interior cooler without stressing the battery.

I hope that roof is based on some technology I've never heard of. If it's simply glass then they're killing themselves two ways. First the glass is added weight and the light/heat coming through will really tax the climate control.

"light/heat coming through will really tax the climate control. "

Depends where you live. In more northern areas it would be a big advantage as it would greatly reduce dependance on the heater.

Electric heaters use a lot more power then the A/C would (which we rarely if ever use anyhow).

The rear I mean

The Genesis appears slab-slided compared with this beauty. The body ripples look more decisive than the new Audi S5 - very much like an Auston Martin. If this car is $50K, there is going to be incredible demand.

Firstwagon,

That's true, but electric cars don't generally do well in cold climates, so you are most likely to find them in sunny warm places where a glass roof is not a blessing.

Very Jag XF, but LOVE IT!!!

Your right, batteries don't do well in the cold.

On the plus side, almost all of our electricity comes from green sources so the Tesla would actually be a green car.
