Cadillac has cancelled plans for a small diesel engine that it planned to offer in Europe. And given that diesels are a virtual requirement to compete in the European luxury market, this could be a sign that GM is thinking of pulling Cadillac out of Europe completely.

GM is a quitter!
Take the long term planning approach and preserve the investment in Europe.
Now that Cadillac is finally building great cars again it might be wise to participate globally with their brands.
Not only should Cadillac sell the diesel in Europe, it should be sold in North America also.

Ugh, kill Cadillac in Europe. They've needed to exit stage left for a long time. You can half-ass it for only so long before people start ignoring you.
Too little, too late.

Totally agree w/moparbad.
Diesels are HUGE in the UK and now that they've finally built one - they walk away from it. If they had planned to have ANY sort of presence in the UK, they killed that when they killed the diesel.
It would have been interesting to see what this diesel could have done and if they would have brought it over to the US; I would have considered it. But alas, it will be BMW that again gets my $$$ for the 335d.
Sorry GM, you lose.
