The Geneva auto show is always filled with cool cars we can't get in the U.S., and now you can add the Audi A4 Allroad to that list.
Audi officials told us that until we get over our love of big, high-riding SUVs, they'll keep sending us Q7s and Q5s. Hard to argue with that school of thought. -- Ed Hellwig, Lead Senior Editor, Inside Line

Wow, a nice looking vehicle, from a respected company, that turns a lot of heads, that we won't get. Never seen that happen before.
Could this be a vehicle that is bought over seas and shipped here? Is it only a price issue, or is there emissions issues and the like?
Also, is there enough of a difference between the new Allroad and the Q5 to justify bringing it here?

O.K. Just drove the Q5. I now don't see a need for the Allroad. the height of the vehicle is almost identical. I was actually surprised at how small it was (vertically). But it has an amazing ride, nice engine, nice MMI (use the steering wheel controls and voice commands when driving, otherwise you'll find yourself calling your insurance company after the accident).
The only real difference I could see, even though I don't expect it to be too great is the price difference. This was a Prestige model that stickered at just north of $50k. That is A LOT for a crossover.

+1 on the cost of the Q5. That car is priced dangerously high IMO.
