Chevrolet Corvette GT1 Championship Edition

gt1corvette-f34-1000.jpg

This is the new Chevrolet Corvette GT1 Championship Edition. It sort of looks like the Corvette C6.R racecar thanks to some fancy stripes and lettering. It has specially embroidered seats and an "owner installed" windshield banner too. Need we say more?

I love and repsect the Vettes racing heritage but this looks so downmarket.

Is it a ZR1 under the paint (it appears to be)?

kurtmaxxguy,

Nope, the only thing ZR1 about the GT1 is the full-width, body-color spoiler. The package is available on Coupes ($65,310), Convertibles ($71,815) and Z06s ($86,385). It comes in the Velocity Yellow seen here or black.

Sadly, Chevy will offer no option-delete for the stripes or the chrome wheels.

This looks like a high-profit decal package. If GM can sell a few of these to the satin jacket crowd and it helps maintain the viability of the Corvette, then they should go for it. Personally, I won't be trading in my stripe-free '07 coupe on one of these...

Seriously, why the chrome wheels, whhhyyyyyyyy?

It's like slipping Jessica Biel a gorgonzola flavoured breath mint.
