2009 Geneva Auto Show: More on the Audi TT-RS

tt-rs-lead-555.jpg

First it was a leak of the teaser shots, now more has spilled out on the Audi TT-RS that's headed for Geneva. Looks like there will be coupe and convertible versions, both powered by a 340-hp turbocharged five-cylinder connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Audi says to expect a 0-to-60mph time under 5 seconds. Not bad for a TT.

I wasnt a fan of the last TT as it was just a pretty face in sporty clothes. However, after seeing a absolutely stunning red (I hate red cars) TT S-Line Roadster coming out of Kroger back in the summer of last year and reading about how much effort Audi put into the TT to make a MUCH sportier performing product, I can see how its much more competitive and desirable.

However, I dont think it possesses the kind of raw, pure, tactile sporting feel I prefer but that of course isnt the TTs direct performance target. Too bad its really expensive. Nice car.

The convertible looks like a VW Cabrio on steroids
