Teaser shots of the upcoming Audi TT-RS have hit the web and all we can say is, "were jealous". That's because this high-powered TT coupe isn't headed for the U.S.
Nope, only those highfalutin Europeans will get this direct-injected, turbocharged five-cylinder. Audi says it will produce "well over 300-horsepower" and take "nowhere near five seconds" to hit 60mph. We're assuming that means it'll hit 60mph in around 4.5- and not 6.7-seconds.
Audi also notes that passing in the TT-RS will amount to "child's play" while the top-speed is limited to 155mph only on paper. Who knew Germans could get so giddy?

gimme a black one and call it a day.
but where will it be priced? with numbers like those id assume 50k+....but that's inching on rs4 territory. and the tt interiors are still nowhere near up to audi sedan levels.

That car sounds (literally and figuratively) amazing. A highly-boosted turbo five!? Reminds me of another Audi ... circa 25 years ago?
I would happily pay for a hot Audi rather than the "base" Porsche Cayman.
When I intern over in London ... I'll hafta fit a test drive in!

That is perhpas the best sounding turbo I've ever heard. On track days, the turbos cars generally sound harsh, and the sucking of air drowns out any sweet growl. But this, I could live with this.

Oh the days of the Audi turbo 5 bangers. My mother had a Audi 200 Turbo back when I was in high school and I loved that car. TONS of turbo lag but once the turbo spooled up hang on as it was definately quick. At highway speeds it was an absolute rocket.
