Porsche Museum Opening in Stuttgart This Month

porsche.museum.exterior1.jpg

On January 31, the Porsche Museum will officially open its doors in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. With typical Porsche modesty, the press release describes the new facility as "one of the greatest and most spectacular building projects in the history of Dr. Ing. h.c.F. Porsche AG."

Clearly, Porsche is quite proud of the new place, and judging by the numerous photographs, it is an impressive structure indeed. There are 80 cars spread throughout the museum's 60,000 square feet of floor space. The designers also managed to squeeze in a restaurant, coffee bar and a glass-walled workshop where visitors can observe cars undergoing active restoration.

Why does the name of their company have the title Doctor?
What a weird company.
Dr. Toyota, Dr. Honda, Dr. Nissan, Dr. BMW, Dr. Mercedes-Benz... that's a little weird.

It is a cool building but BMWs Welt is even more impressive.
