It started Tuesday and ends Sunday, but the big days for the Barrett-Jackson auction are always Friday and Saturday. That's when the expensive stuff rolls across the block and last night was no exception.
Prices are down this year, but 32 cars still managed to break the $100,000 mark. Expect to see if even more money being thrown around tonight when the auction's most sought after vehicles roll across the block. We'll be keeping tabs on all the big news, but in the meantime check out what brought the biggest money last night.
1959 Chevrolet Corvette: With only 2,902 miles, this 283-powered Corvette hadn't been driven enough to even need a restoration. Final bid: $220,000

1969 Chevrolet Camaro Custom Coupe: Well, this customized Camaro isn't really our thing, but apparently it did it for somebody out there. Final bid: $165,000.

1957 Chevrolet 150 Sedan: One of the oldest 1957 Chevrolet sedans in existence and only 46,133 miles. Final bid: $165,000.

1971 Buick GS455 Convertible: A perfect Stage 1 GS with a four speed, definitely worth the price. Final bid: $152,900.

If I were to buy one of the cars, it would be the Buick GS. Just beautiful.
The Corvette is cool to but it's value is in the low miles so I wouldn't be able to drive it without costing me a fortune. I would buy a higher mileage one for half the price to I could enjoy it.
The 150 sedan is neat but not my style. Cool old collectible for old guys.
The 69 Camaro would be a blast to own but not at that price.
The 93 Camaro should be worth 1/3 that amount. Was it for charity or something else that ran up the price?

That Camaro is definitely not a 1993. That's a 1998+ in the picture.

I agree with firstwagon: That Buick is gorgeous and would be my pick of that litter as well.
