Barrett-Jackson: First Production Thunderbird Goes for $600,000

55bir-555.jpg

It was one of the signature cars of this year's 2009 Barrett-Jackson auction and this 1955 Ford Thunderbird lived up to its billing. Certified by Ford as the very first production Thunderbird, the black '55 had been in the same family for over 40 years. They were all tears as it sat on the block, but something tells me they won't be crying when they cash that check for over half a million dollars. Noted collector Ron Pratt was the winning bidder.

If this car was at auction 2-3 years ago, I bet it would have gone for a million or more......

Thats a cool car and their auto parts are really good and long life one. This was a very old car and the model is refurnished for this era. Its fantastic and sold for $600,000 is miracle.
