2009 New York Auto Show: World Debut of 2010 Nissan 370Z Convertible Confirmed

Now that the 2009 Nissan 370Z is on dealer lots, the company has confirmed the reveal of the 2010 Nissan 370Z Convertible at the 2009 New York Auto Show. Nissan has traditionally used New York for major reveals and with the demise of this year's Tokyo Auto Show there weren't too many choices left.

Don't expect anything ground breaking like a retractable hardtop as that option has been reserved for the Infiniti G37 Convertible. Good thing too, as all that hardware simply adds weight and the 370Z isn't exactly a Lotus to begin with. Expect to see the same 3.7-liter V6 as the coupe along with two trim levels and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

ugh. Neither the 350Z nor the 370Z translated well into a convertible. The coupe looks great, but this is just not good.

Nissan is going to sell a lot of them ugly or not. While I agree that the rear end is a bit...um, big overall it isn't too bad.

Looks great top down! (I wonder if it will look weird with the top up like the 300ZX convertible did?)

Does it really look that bad? I honestly think it looks pretty good.

i don't think it looks that bad. but it doesnt look crazily beautiful either. just another choice for those who're looking for a speedy and relatively affordable convertable.

It sounds from some of your comments like you dont know that this is merely an illustration of what the car might look like. In fact, line drawings have leaked from the European trademark office and it actually looks pretty good from what I can tell. And just so you know where I stand i thought the 350z convertible was one of the ugliest cars ever made. Decide for yourself
