Did you see the 2010 Cadillac SRX that broke cover over the weekend? Well, if not, you can get all the details in our full story on the new compact SUV. If that's not enough to get you all excited about Cadillac's first turbocharged vehicle in the U.S., there's now some running footage of the vehicle after the jump, on paved roads and everything.

Doesn't leave much to look forward to at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show next week, but don't forget that there have been rumors swirling about a possible plug-in hybrid Cadillac and this SRX would be a logical choice for such a system. We'll see next Sunday.

I can't put my finger on it but there is something about this car that does not sit well with me.

Maybe the overall body shape looks too much like a Vue/CR-V/Rogue/etc?

Either way, no really a fan.

The video made it look a bit better but its still not as polished or finished as nice as the CTS sedan and SportWagon. As I said in another thread, Cadillac should have used the awesome (and proven) RWD acrhitecture of the CTS as the foundation of the SRX to retain its reputation for being one of the more driver focused sport/luxury crossovers. Isnt that the image Cadillac is striving for?

"I can't put my finger on it but there is something about this car that does not sit well with me."

Maybe it's the slightly oversized front end. Particularly those headlights that would look so much better if they were taken straight from the CTS. As for the overall shape, well at least it looks better than everything in it's class except the X3. But were they going for the X3 sized utes? Or X5? Because if it was the latter then GM totally screwed up and should have built a true CROSSOVER SUV off the CTS platform. It would perform better and not look like a Vue with jewelry.

You are all looking too far into this car's intent. The Lexus RX350 is the target Cadillac is going after and if you compare the two you start to understand what Cadillac is going after. Look at what Lincoln is able to do with the very warmed over Edge. It's one of the only vehicles Lincoln is able to sell. You and I would never even consider the MK(whatever)crossover or any crossover for that matter. This new SRX will triple the amount the original one did and right now, that's all GM is concerned with doing.
