This morning, on a stage, far, far away, Jim Farley, Ford's top marketing executive, introduced the 2010 Lincoln MKT. It wasn't a surprise like the Lincoln C Concept, but the new three-row MKT was no less important. It is, after all, one of the first vehicles to offer Ford's much talked about, yet never-seen-in-a-production-car EcoBoost engine.
And although Mr. Farley spent ample time extolling the virtues of the MKT's optional twin-turbo, V6 power plant, a photo of the MKT remains elusive. Neither the MKT on the stage nor the MKS Sport, which also gets the new V6, were so equipped. Seems a shame as the engine is an impressive piece on paper with power (355 hp) and torque (350 pound-feet) that are unmatched in the three-row crossover segment. We'll keep stalking the Lincoln stand; until then you can check out our full story on the Lincoln MKT for more details. -- Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor, Inside Line

Kudos to Lincoln for the nice interior & daring exterior, but I think the exterior's not quite successful.
I see an odd cross between a London taxicab and a hearse, particularly when the thing's painted black. I don't know how well that will go over with the car-buying public, but oddly enough, I think it's worth marketing this thing to the livery market as a Town Car replacement. It'd at least have the room they need and the interior looks premium enough.

Hmm... I like the Buick Enclave so much better. And that's GM's sub-luxury level. The interior looks pretty good (nothing great-especially for the targeted market) but Ford absolutely FLOPPED with that exterior design. The concept it was based on didn't look that good either. The whole profile of the car looks awkward and unathletic, and that wierd kink in the back makes the rear look overwieght. This should have looked like a long Lincoln MKX. Ford's problem is that they just will not stray from a concept-for better (Mustang?) or for worse (Flex, possibly the new Taurus with the Inceptor rear end, and every other Ford with that ugly razor blade grille).

My eyes are just repelled by all teh MKT, MKZ, MKX rubbish. It's meaningless. Please bring back American names. The Germans don't name their cars - I get it - but I don't admire them for that.
