Am I missing something? Even with the drop in truck sales, isn't the US the biggest world market for pickup trucks (or one of the biggest)? If VW is going to the trouble of doing a pickup, why aren't they going to be selling it here?

The only foreign market pick-up that would be a substantial improvement over any current offerings is the Toyota Hi-Lux Diesel(s). If that VW mule is a GM, then they can keep it in Europe (where it will probably get a small displacement turbo-diesel).
