Volvo will be showing this S60 Concept at the NAIAS. The styling is more aggressive than what we're used to seeing from Volvo. Interesting to note that the car has "suicide" rear doors. Since this is a Volvo (safety and all that...), maybe they have discovered that this door configuration is actually safer than the conventional door setup?

I'm a real fan of suicide doors. Is there a genuine reason they never caught on (beyond the name of course)?

suicide doors... rear seat and front seat occupant can't get out at the same time...
So it has the functionality of a coupe door in that only one person get out at a time.
Except the suicide door requires an extra step of opening two doors instead of one.
Which would make suicide doors more inconvenient than coupe doors.

...and that's why Mazda put two half doors on the RX8?
These doors are more for style than function. However, I would imagine that rear-hinged doors would make it easier for women wearing skirts to exit the vehicle.

I bet trying to get out with a car parked next to this one would be an exercise.
