Sam's Club to offer chance at $100K electric sports car

Bet you didn't see this coming. I sure didn't. Sam's Club, a shopping outlet not known for offering high-end products, if offering one chance for some customer to purchase special edition of a Hybrid Technologies all-electric sports car based on an upgraded Mullen GT. No, you won't find one at every Sam's outlet, as this is a one-time deal on only one car.

So the question is: Is this a great marketing exercise, sure to get them headlines--hey, it worked here right? Or is it pure lunacy on their part?

You'd be surprised - the demographics for the warehouse stores are actually quite affluent. They are the ones that have the space in their big McMansions to store those bulk purchases.

This tie-in makes perfect sense.
