With all of the hoopla surrounding the SEMA Show, don't miss our comparison test of the Honda Civic Hybrid vs. the Honda Fit.
Are hybrids really the most fuel-efficient cars on the road? That's not all we tested. We factored in price, feature content, performance, and more.

A regular Honda Civic automatic should have been included in the mixture as well, since one of the main criticisms of the Hybrid is its price. It beats the Fit's highway gas mileage and falls just short of the city gas mileage at the same time. The odds seem kind of stacked in the Fit's favor in this test.

The Fit would have done much better without the automatic and without the overpriced Sport package.

I test drove an automatic Fit Sport a couple of weeks ago but didn't play with the paddle shifters. It sure felt gutless. I want to test a manual but they are hard to come by in my neck of the woods.

orangutan, Edmunds wouldn't even think of stacking in the Fit's favor.

I'd pick the Fit as well.

brn: Nice link. Jesus.
The test, as with so many others as of late here at Edmunds, is just rotten and has a predetermined outcome. You don't buy a hybrid for driving enjoyment (not a Civic hybrid, anyway) but for the mileage and the idea/image of driving a hybrid. To put it in a contest where the final verdict is based on "funness" and "sportiness" and initial price is asinine.
