Whoa! What's this? Stick-shift cars are gaining in popularity?
That's what GM is seeing. Most likely this is due to everyone's interest in gaining maximum fuel economy. Regardless, for gearheads that's great news, as even the best of 2-pedal cars (a.k.a. automatics) aren't nearly as rewarding to drive than 3-pedal cars.

Second question (can't get the link to work):
Are they selling more 3-pedal (Cobalts, say), than 2-pedal Cobalts, -- implying let's buy the cheapest car possible, or is this an across-the-board favouring of clutches (including CTS, G8). I didn't think any of the Malibu-platform vehicles had a manual option.

Still have that Jetta 5m in eyesight and nervous about purchasing a MT vehicle... All the "What IFs..." make the decision that much more dificult(espicially With VW's Freaking Endless Engine/Tire/Trim Levels/Features options)
