2008 SEMA: Subaru WRX Concept

You just know that Subaru would be out in full force at SEMA. One of the vehicles they have on display is a WRX concept, with only a few mods; one of which is their SPT cat-back exhaust.

What's interesting here is that Subaru is saying this concept car has 275 hp and 250 lb-ft of torque. Now before I bought my new trick-or-treat WRX (got it on Halloween), I drove an '09 WRX with the cat-back exhaust. Besides having a jail-bait sound, the car felt a bit quicker than the earlier '09 WRX that I drove without said exhaust system. So... I guess that exhaust does add some extra power.

10hp from the exhaust and about another 10-15hp from the SPT cold air intake sounds about right. Doesn't mess with the factory warranty either!

I like the ghosted paint job.

Would be great to see a comparo between a WRX and the new Camaro RS. Similar price, but one's a looker with more displacement grunt, one's more practical and has higher engine mod potential. But which is more FUN?
