Buried in the back of GM's display was this 2010 Pontiac G8 ST pickup, which is a made-over Holden Utility. If you want your modern-day El Camino, here you go. Considering the current economic climate, who knows if this will ever see the light of day. So if you like it, you might want to let GM know about your interest.

It may just be the camera angle, but that bed actually looks useable.

I thought GM wasn't showing at the LA auto show.

This vehicle has marginal utility, yet was green-lighted for the US instead of the wagon. Didn't GM learn anything from the SSR?

Basically GM is saying, "This is who we are. What have we been doing wrong??" (scratching the head).

They officially have idiots in their offices. I'm not holding much hope for this turnaround all of a sudden. Why is PONTIAC selling pickups and subcompacts? This is why they're going broke...

I think it looks pretty good, but I also wonder why it is being badged as a Pontiac and not a Chevy... Also those tailights look like they came off a F-150

How much would this cost to build, though? GM already has the parts on the shelf. It's just a matter of federalizing it.
I don't think volumes would be high, but neither would costs.
Holden already paid for all the design and engineering.

Jesus, These kinds of cars GM makes is why the Government isn't giving them a Bailout. They're wasting money building useless crap! They're should've kept the freaking GTO, gave it the side-airbags, and maybe, Just Maybe, they'd be successful!

I hope they make it. I will have something to laugh about when I see it on the road.
Plus it will make for a good business point when people talk about the demise of GM.
