2008 L.A. Auto Show: 2009 Porsche Cayman

After all the talk about the Boxster's connection with Porsche history, the Cayman barely got a mention. It didn't really need much explanation anyway. It gets the same pair of upgraded engines as the Boxster, along with a few minor styling tweaks and slightly wider wheels to accommodate larger brakes.

At the Q&A session following the press conference, Porsche executives were asked if they have considered hybrid power for the Cayman. The emphatic answer was "No, it adds too much weight for a sports car." Confirmation of a Panamera hybrid was given, though, and Porsche still sees a future for the Cayenne Hybrid. Then again, they said that last year, too.
