3-wheelers and Harley-Davidson are nothing new. In fact the concept is as American as apple pie. What's new here is that Harley is working on a new high-tech 3-wheeler that leans into the corners. Again, a concept that's not new, but it does indicate a sea change in Harley thinking.
A concept of this bike is rumored to show up at a motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany next month.

This is similar to the Can-Am Spider. However, the spyder does not lean in the corners. It looks like the 3 wheel market is heating up.

I thought piaggio had the patent on this? how is the Harley able to patent the same thing?
I wonder which system is actually better... piaggio's is very clever, curious how the Harley is different.

I think it's a good idea considering the age Harley riders are getting up to. Their next generation of 3 wheelers will likely be along these lines...

I like the idea of a 3 wheeler but I prefer the enclosed ones.

What a great machine this is going to be! It will be a lot more fun to ride than the Can Am as the Can Am does not lean into corners like a motorbike. It basically gets more and more sluggish the faster you try to take a turn. This Harley with the Vrod motor (which makes more powah than the Can Am motor) will be a blast.
Piaggio currently offers the MP3 which is very similar except that it is powered by a 500cc single cylinder motor. The Piaggio is selling out everywhere which bodes very well for harley.

Boy that's ugly. Kill it before it grows.
What's next? A Harley Lawn Tractor?
