Cerberus prefers a single buyer for Chrysler

Latest word is that Cerberus does not want to break up the Chrysler divisions, and sell them off separately. Instead they would prefer to sell Chrysler as one unit.

If so, then that raises more questions as to what might happens for the various divisions. There was a report the other day that Nissan might be interested in the Dodge truck division, and Renault has also expressed interest in Chrysler as well. I'm sure there are others too who may also be interested in various aspects of Chrysler, but not the whole kitandkaboodle.

Full story here.

Cerebus is concerned that someone buys Jeep and the value of the rest of Chrysler plummets.

If there are willing buyers of Chrysler and Dodge, I say take the opportunity.

Perhaps I was expecting too much from a hedge fund company but I'm very disappointed in Cerberus.

Chrysler has some good products and a bunch of almost good products.

I was hoping Cerberus would do the "flip this house" thing in a legit manner. Come in, fix a bunch of problems, improve the companies value and then sell it for a profit.

Every product they have can be improved by simply listening to magazine writers and average Joe's on forums like this. A lot of things they could do don't even cost much.

However they chose to do nothing.

They bought it, sat around for awhile and now are trying to dump it.

With less choices on the market, the consumer is the big loser here.

Basically companies like these are just parasites. They add nothing to the world and always leave thing worse then before they arrived.

And if anyone from Cerberus reads this and doesn't like what I'm saying, prove me wrong.

You own a car company. Instead of dumping it, fix it. I'll bet if you talk to the engineers that still work there, they will have a solution for every problem the consumers complain about.

You only have to listen and actually do something.

Lame.

Sell the truck division to Nissan and Jeep to the highest bidder.

Do they really think they will get more selling it as a bundle?
