Subaru will show a pair of Forester concepts at this year's SEMA.
Forester XTI
Think Forester STI and then some (here).
Forester XT Mountain Rescue
How's a Forester turbo with Yokohama Geolandar MTS 30 x 9.5-in. tires mounted on special 15-in. Subaru custom-reversed near-zero offset steel wheels, and up to 14.5" of ground clearance grab you (here)?

The XTI looks SHARP! Typically, I'm turned off by the Forester's dowdy appearance, but I like this. Actually reminds me of the best elements of a SAAB.

Excellent! It would be great with a 6-speed manual. Or any manual for that matter...

As noted in the press release linked to in Bob's post, it does come with a 6-speed manual transmission. It's basically a 2008 STi in a Forester body with the SPT exhaust. As a NASIOC poster said, though, who knows whether this car will make it to production and, if so, what it will cost. I don't think the demand for manual transmission Forester XT's is high enough to command $36K+. If there was enough demand, they never would have dropped the 5MT from the lineup to begin with.

I agree, there is definitely some Saab in there. Nice.

A Forester STi....I would highly consider that.

Hopefully, this means a manual X/T could make it to the options list down the road.

They have a 6 speed manual on the diesel Forester - and it may come to the USA. The transmission is already on the parts shelf, just do it!
I'd lower the front a tad - the wheel gap looks too big. Otherwise it looks great.
The mountain rescue has potential but lose the color and the painted windows.

Here's a neat article about the Mountain Rescue Forester.
