2008 Paris Auto Show: Blacked-Out Audi RS 6

We've already had some seat time behind the wheel of the new Audi RS 6, but seeing it again under the lights of the Paris auto show stage reminded us of just how tough the new four-door looks. It didn't hurt that this particular example had what Audi calls the "black optical pack," an option that replaces all the chrome on the car with flat black trim.

Would a Cadillac CTS-V look as good with a similar package? Yes.

Will we ever find out? No. -- Ed Hellwig, Lead Senior Editor, Inside Line

Listen to yourself, Ed. An American car without chrome? Yeah. That'll happen. :)

Blackout > chrome.

The CTS-V is hideous.

Awesome. I, for one, think it's a real shame that Audi won't be bringing the Avant version to the United States. I would happily sell my beater and SUV for that!

It's getting harder and harder to tell one Audi from the next. Honestly, in pictures at least, this looks exactly like an A4 now.
Dougtheeng: one man's hideous, is another man's at least I won't get lost in the crowd or mistaken for a cheaper version.
Wow, they blacked out the chrome. How Pontiac.

Looks great. I hate chrome and I love AWD, so I'm the choir they are preaching to.
