Big "oops!" here. Somehow the Saab site from Chile posted images of the upcoming--and not officially announced--Saab 9-4 X. ...And as you would expect, these images are now starting to hit the Net.
In any event, this is one handsome CUV. Power will come from a 245-hp @5300 rpm and 295 ib-ft @1900 rpm 2.0 turbo. Saab is claiming 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway, which can't be U.S. EPA numbers.
Full story here at Jalopnik (here) and WorldCarFans (here) via a translated Saab Chile site (here).

Looks pretty good. I would definitely group it with Audi's new compact crossover in the "Looks Good" segment, while the X3 and the new Benz fall under "It has a great personality". LOL

Will probably cost arm and leg in USA unless GM moves some Saab production here.
Looks nice, though.

What platform is this based on?

I read is on the same platform, FWD/AWD, as the new Caddy SRX.
Nice looking CUV, but I only wish it will truly be a SAAB not a rebadge GM.

Looks nice but I can't think of a single reason to buy one over the 9-3 SportCombi wagon.

Wow, that looks a lot smaller than the current SRX.
Not a bad platform, I wouldn't complain.
