As you might expect, the 2009 Canadian Imprezas are similar to what we get, but with a few exceptions.
The current WRX remains as is, and is not re-badged as the 2.5 GT like in the U.S. There is a new more powerful 265-hp model which is named just that: the WRX265. None of the 2009 Canadian WRXs will be available with an automatic tranny.
The changes here virtually mirror what's happening with the US-spec 2.5i models.
Nothing has yet been announced on the 2009 STI, for either the USA or Canada.

No automatic WRX? Strange, yet I like it! LOL

I think the USA is the only market (or one of the very few markets) in which the WRX is offered with an automatic.

I should say "was offered" as the WRX automatic is now called the 2.5GT here.

I can't imagine anyone ordering a WRX with an automatic. Manuals have always been the norm on sports cars in Canada.
I imagine they are labeling them different to try to hide the huge price difference we have to pay on the WRX (Current model bases at $33K)

The USA Subaru web site has lots of hooligan action with '09 WRX'ers.
Wrt WRX STI, perhaps Subaru hasn't finished the performance / package tweaks yet
