We knew there was a diesel version of the 2009 Ford F-150 in the works, and now we have the photos to prove it. Caught while testing in Death Valley, this F-150 Diesel prototype didn't try to conceal its identity. Under the hood, a Powerstroke-labeled engine cover makes it pretty clear that Ford will carry over its brand name from the heavy-duty diesel engine. Closer inspection also revealed a clearly visible additive inlet for the fluid used to clean up the exhaust. Expect to see the 2010 Ford F-150 Diesel on sale by the end of next year.

GMC and Chevrolet both offered 1/2" ton diesels. Dodge has offered 1/2 ton diesel.

When did Dodge offer a half ton diesel?
The GM diesels were the old tech 6.2 and 6.5 diesel. Light duty engines compared to the DuraMax, Powerstroke and Cummins.
Anyone know what size the new Ford diesel is?

Firstwagon - I agree, I'm refering to recent times. I don't think the GM's from a few years ago are at all in the same league as the PS, Cu or DMaxs of today.

firstwagon - Most of the news I've seen says it's supposed to be a 4.4L V8.

2ND that on the 4.4L V8. thats what I keep reading on the size.
Can anyone of you tell or know if its a twin turbo?
I hope we have the ability to choose rear end ratios and have 6 speed manual or 6 speed auto trans available.
If you put a 3:55 rear end with a 6 speed manual trans in it I bet you could push 30 mpg.
