I think Mercedes has a better claim on those designations than Ford!

So why is VW using a rebadged Chrysler minivan?
What happened to the cool microbus concept van that was suppossed to come out? VW even had the microbus on their website for awhile as an upcoming model.

I commend VW for getting in the minivan market when most of the big guns are getting out, but I also think a Microbus-inspired product would have been much better.

I much prefer the Microbus, too, but let's be honest - it would have cost $40,000.

don't know if you've seen minivan prices but people are paying $40,000 for Odyseeys, Siennas and Chryslers.
VW sucessfully translated the Beetle for sub-$20,000. There is no reason to think they could have done the Microbus for a proper MSRP.
they already have the chassis of the Eurovan as a start.
