Bad news for Caddy fans, as the latest word is that Cadillac will not build a coupe-convertible version of their classy CTS coupe.
This is really odd, as coupe-convertibles from other luxury carmakers are hot items. To make matters worse, Cadillac's explanation as to why the decision, does nothing but raise more speculation and more questions.

Declining to offer comment doesn't exactly translate to, "Not going to happen," to me. Maybe it's just wishful thinking.

That would be a shame. The coupe was gorgeous.

This convertible is great and would sell really well. But it's not going to be produced. Instead we have the showroom anchor Caddi XLR converible that no-one wants.

Dumb Move! Maybe it's just the photoshop pic, (though I'm not hugely impressed by the coupe) but this is HAWT. Better than the 3 Series convertible and the photoshoped pics of the G convertible. GM killed a winner. Wow- that's a first. maybe this really is a plus for GM.

No gain, no loss. Let the coupe get a foothold first. If thats successful, like BMW, a ragtop will follow.

GM will be bleeding red ink again because of the strikes they are enduring. Their large Truck Based SUV and P/U Trucks are lanquishing on it's dealers lots. They only subcompact they sell is the South Korean Aveo. Chevy Colbalt and the 2 door Pontiac G5 are so inferior to the competition. Does GM care? Hell no because inferior or not, here comes GM.

Coupes turned convertibles usually don't turn out well, but that looks fantastic. It's like a mini XLR, only with better interior.
