Latest word on the replacement for the NSX is that it's going to target Ferrari and Lamborghini, likely the F430 and Gallardo. So we're talking somewhere well north of $150K. The car will have a V10 and Acura's SH-AWD. 4WS was also considered, but that idea appears to have been shelved...
Full story here.
Or... maybe not. Autoblog is saying it aint so (here), as they've interviewed Mike Spencer from Acura's press corp, who denies the car will ultra-expensive. So, as always, stay tuned...

Big mistake. When the GT-R and Corvette ZR1 are both less than $100K, and when even a 911 Turbo is $150K, Acura has no business pricing themselves this high. Speaking for myself I wouldnt even consider the Acura if I was fortunate enough to be able to spend $200K on a car.

Let's wait to see what the specs on this beast are and how it fairs against the targeted competition. I'm looking forward to seeing how it does... as long as it's not called the NSX!!!

Yawn - a super-expensive, capable car - who really cares? It is no accomplishment to build a better Ferrari/Lambo for $200k.

Does Honda have the restige of Ferrari or Lamborghini? Acura sure doesn't, but I'm not so sure about Honda. They certainly have the pedigree.
I agree though. I think a GT-R fighter would be best.

From what Ive heard the Acuras weight should be very comparable to a Lamborghini Gallardo which is actually a pretty light car especially an AWD car. Also the car will come with a 4.5 to 5.5L V10 with "around" 550hp.

They'll have plenty of customers. Just think of all the existing Acura owners - they only need a handful of those that hit it big.

True Ateixeira, as there are plenty of current NSX owners (NSX Prime) who have been forced to modify their NSX's for more power to be able to compete with the current crop of 500hp high end sports cars.
Tastefully modified white Comptech supercharged NSX 3.2L coupe with JDM NSX-R parts. Should make around 400+ WHP.

Tastefully modified yellow turbocharged NSX coupe. This LoveFab turbochraged NSX made a bit over 500 wheel hp @ 10 PSI.

Supercharged NSX 3.2 vs Lambo Gallardo.
The Comptech suprcharged 3.2 NSX @ 7-8 PSI should make a bit over 400 wheel hp.

LoveFabs own turbo NSX. The last I heard this car made about 720WHP. Im not sure how much power the car made in this video. Im unsure if this is a 3.0L or a 3.2. I can usually tell by exhaust note alone. I think its a 3.2.

I thought Id throw this in just for kicks since we own a S2000. Turbocharged 495 WHP S2000 vs stock Porsche 911 Turbo (996).

A 2.0L 4cyl with 495WHP on stock internals = insane!

To be honest I dont think the car will be priced similar to the Ferrari or Lambo. The original NSX started around $65K when it debuted. Later versions were pricier....about $88K.
Hand assembled, exotic materials, industry firsts, super high quality, world class construction and technology. Taking these things into consideration, you can see why it was priced that way.
Pretty interesting.
