Forget the silly name 'Wingle,' just look at this thing—a factory-built 6-door pickup. It's powered by a 2.8L diesel, and has a top speed of 120 kph. It will debut at the upcoming Beijing Auto Show.
There have been affermarket 6-door pickups before, but never has one been offered from the factory; at least not one that I'm aware of...
Does anyone think that Ford, GM or Dodge should consider offering 6-door pickups? Or is the market just too small for this type of vehicle? Keep in mind that 4-door pickups have been around for decades, but just recently just caught on with the public. Now I don't ever expect a 6-door pickup to be used as a family vehicle (unless, or course, you're Catholic), but what about for for job sites?

Seems like an Econoline style van could hall the workers to the site, and then normal pickups can be used.

I imagine that thing will have all the build quality of a Happy Meal toy, and a turning circle of a Boeing. Just don't plan on making any U-turns.
I think it's too big for practical purposes, and that would limit its sales.
The Excursion was too big, for instance.

God that thing is ugly.
6 door pickups are a bad idea IMO. The longer you make the cab, the shorter the bed is which defeats the point of a truck. And if you add a long bed, good luck maneuvering it.

6-door pickup, no.
6-door SUV, yes.
6-door long wheelbase minivan, yes.
These would be niche products of course, but I bet there are customers out there.
Edit: Also, the F650 is a "production" made 6-door by Super Truck.

If it's only 6m long like the article says, it's shorter then a lot of full size pick up trucks.

Yep. This is sized more like a 6-door Tacoma, and not a 6-door Tundra.

Would it have killed them or made the truck that much more ungainly to add just another foot or two to the bed?? I've seen milk crates that were bigger. It looks like it's a work vehicle - why not make it a little more useful.

Another thing - who names a car, or anything Wingle!!!
The Chinese need to stick to alphanumeric names for their cars because the ones they actually assign are hilarious in the worst way.

This vehicle is for the Chinese market, so what we think of the names means nothing.

It does if China ever hopes to sell any of their cars in North America.
