2010 VW Robust caught

There are much clearer pictures of the upcoming VW Robust pickup now up on the Net, thanks to Brenda Priddy and her gang of photo sleuths.

This time a crew cab version was caught with only the front and rear masked. It appears to be mid-sized, and hints a bit ,from the profile of the Chevy Colorado. The Robust will come in both 2WD and 4WD versions...
As to cab choices, beyond the crew cab pictured here, it's rumored that there will be a regular cab as well.

Ok, so VW will offer an extended cab and possibly regular cab truck. Given how gas prices are slamming most truck sales, How fuel efficient will VW's be? Are these 100% VW trucks or rebadges from another company?

Word is that this truck will not be coming here. It's for Europe. We may(?) get one later.

VW made the TARO which was a Toyota Hi-Lux for Europe. I won't be surprise if the base is Toyota again.

They could have a success here if they can keep the weight and price down and (most important) produce it with a 2.5 to 3.0 Litre version of the excellent TDI.

Imagine a pickup the size of a Dakota but uses half the fuel while haveing all the torque.

This is an awsome truck. If they would start selling it here in Belize it would compete against all the mid size pick-up turcks sold here for example the Isusu Dmax, Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, Great Wall Wingle etc.., all of which offer 3.0 TDI engines. The said the Robust is the Toyota Hilux's Comptetion in the European market have a flare of that truck.
