Long-Term Test: 2008 Cadillac CTS V6 DI (Introduction)

We've added a Crystal Red 2008 Cadillac CTS to our long-term fleet.

Its 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 is capable of 304 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque and comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.

We opted for the Premium Luxury package which includes 10-way adjustable and programmable heated/cooled front seats, rain-sensing wipers, heated washer fluid, interior accent lighting, 17-inch cast-aluminum wheels and keyless access.

Great color. I've only seen one CTS, and it was in black, and it was breathtaking. Perfectly proportioned and styled.

Be sure to take the CTS on lots of road trips and post plenty of pictures.

I hope this doesn't preclude the purchase of a CTS coupe next year. Or a diesel.

I'm glad they chose the DI version of this engine.

They should even consider dropping the base engine, since a Malibu V6 can now outrun the base CTS.

Saw a black one yesterday, first one out on the streets. This has got to be one of the most beautiful cars on the road.
