One question that's always asked of an auto show attendee is what car they liked most. My answer to this question is the Kia Optima.
It's not that I think it's so fetching, it's just that the face-lifted Optima was the only production vehicle unveiled at the show that I had not already seen online.
This probably doesn't matter to readers...
Don't get me wrong, I always have fun at auto shows. Who could complain about being on a floor filled with the latest new cars, ones that most people have not seen in person?
But the press conference experience would have been infinitely more enjoyable if there were an excited buzz among the members of the press as the clock ticked down toward the unveiling of the latest car. I would have loved to be part of a crowd of people who saw the new Nissan Maxima's headlights for the first time, asking each other if their eyes were playing tricks on them and then bolting to the media center to file their photos and stories.
With a minor face-lift, the Kia Optima wasn't the most important car at the auto show. But until the very second I saw it, I didn't know what I was going to see. I wish there were more moments like that one. -- Brady Holt, Student Journalist

As much as I love spy vids and pics, I must agree. It's like opening your holiday presents early.

It must have been one lame auto show if what sticks out in your mind is a minor face lift on a Optima.

Brn, you didn't even read what he said, judging by your comment.
Good job, Brady. I'm around your age but... I've never had such a great opportunity handed to me. Hope you enjoyed yourself.

Interesting point. The internet and all the spy photos have sort of taken the surprises out of auto show debuts. The kid's got a point!
